The Reading Public Museum is seeking volunteers to join their Arboretum Assistant Program for 2017. Each year, the number of projects at the Arboretum increases, as does the need for additional volunteers. Gardening sessions are Wednesday mornings, from 9:00 am until noon, beginning the first week in April and continuing through the end of October. In order to participate, the Museum requires volunteers to commit to the equivalent of 2 Wednesday mornings per month – or approximately 14 weeks. The Wednesdays will be of the volunteers choice, with advanced sign registration requested. Penn State Master Gardeners direct and help supervise the Arboretum groups and volunteers are only required to accept tasks physically comfortable.

Anyone interested should plan to attend 2 training/informational sessions held on Wednesday March 8 and March 22, 2017 at 9:00 am at The Museum.

To register for this exciting volunteer opportunity, or request additional information, contact Karen Moyer, Volunteer Coordinator, by February 27, 2017.
