Bring your children to the Berks County Heritage Center to get them bike-ready for the warm weather ahead. Berks Area Mountain Biking Association (BAMBA) and Berks County Parks and Recreation Department host a free Kids Bike Rodeo on Saturday, May 19 at 10 am.  Kids will learn about bike fit, helmet fit, basic bike maintenance and a safety check before riding their bike through a skills obstacle course- for ages 4 to 12.

Members of BAMBA along with Parks staff and volunteers will be on hand to help kids and their families learn safe and responsible biking with this free event. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the rodeo, with lunch provided in the Heritage Center snack bar for all participants. Helmets and bikes are required.

Children must be pre-registered by May 11th by calling the Parks office at 610-374-2944 ext. 2611 or email John Pacharis at

We thank the following businesses for supporting safe biking and donating prizes to the rodeo: Wolverton’s Cycling & Fitness; Shirk’s Bike Shop; East Ridge Outfitters; PA Americana Region; JB Mountain Bikes; Canal Street Pub & Restaurant; and Duryea Downhill.
