Ho Ho Ho, The big man himself will be visiting the Reading Public Museum on Sunday, December 8th, 11-2pm, for the annual “Stories with Santa” event. Staging in the auditorium, Santa and Mrs. Claus will host story time, holiday themed crafts, and of course take photos with kids.
While visiting Santa, kids are also encouraged to visit the museums temporary exhibits, including Arthur’s World, the national touring exhibition based on the PBS Children’s television series. Kids can join Mr. Ratburn’s classroom activities with Arthur and friends as they enter a spelling bee or explore life under a microscope.
Reading Magazine will once again be onsite, taking photos of your little ones with Santa! Reading Magazine professional photographers will be printing 4×6 photos free of charge for all guests. (Limit one printed photo per family. Families are also welcome to take their own photos as well) Visits with Santa are first come, first serve. No reservations necessary.
In addition to “Stories with Santa”, the museum is also hosting a donation drive to support Berks Community Action Program. Items can be dropped off at the museum’s admission desk. Items in need include: Gloves, Hats, Scarves, Chapstick, Tissues, Hand Sanitizers, Socks, Thermal Underwear, Towels, Blankets Umbrellas, etc.
New this year the museum is also hosting a special sensory friendly hour for visitors from 10-11am. Guests will have the opportunity to make special crafts and memories as they explore the museum. Child participants (over the age of 2) will receive a special treat from the museum.
