Thursday marked the official opening of the Penn Street Market. Opening Day featured a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance, Music by Kevin Spyker, and nutrition-based cooking demonstrations by The Food Trust.
The Penn Street Market is held every Thursday, 10am- 2pm, June through September on between the 400 and 500 block of Penn Street.
The weekly market includes a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, cooking demos, live music, and more! Plus, several hot food vendors are onsite for you to grab lunch with friends or just take a break to sit and enjoy live entertainment.
Penn Street Market also announced the return of Berks Farm Bucks, a partnership with the Friends of Reading Hospital and The Food Trust of Philadelphia. The goal of the program is to make it easier for everyone to get fresh, local food.
Plus, enjoy FREE parking at the 4th & Cherry Parking Garage – the exit gate will be open, no vouchers needed.
See you in Downtown Reading everything Thursday!
