The 12th annual Taste of Hope by Family Promise of Berks honored local entrepreneur and philanthropist Hamid Chaudhry at the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading. The annual fundraiser and gala provides critical operating funds for Family Promise.
“We are honoring Hamid Chaudhry for his unconditional dedication to Berks County and its citizens & a strong commitment to giving our most vulnerable a second chance.”
Taste of Hope celebrates many years of success in lifting families and youth out of the unimaginable circumstance of homelessness. The evening included a sit-down dinner, live music by the Reading High School String Ensemble, and a live auction.
“When I came on board as Executive Director a year and a half ago, I invited Hamid to one of our leadership lunches. Seeing that youth homelessness was on the rise, the group was discussing ways to expand our reach to provide meals to people who come off the streets. Hamid, without hesitation said you can count on me, any time of day, call me and ill provide meals. He has been doing this out of the kindness of his heart, not asking for a tax receipt, or recognition.” – Elise Chesson, Executive Director of Family Promise of Berks.
