6 Awesome 4th of July Events in Berks County

Berks County has plenty to offer on July 4th, fireworks displays to community carnivals, and parades! Enjoy a day out with the family with these six great 4th of July events.

Wyomissing 4th of July Parade

The annual 4th of July Parade in Wyomissing will be held on Wednesday, July 4th beginning at 10:00 A.M. The theme this year is “Liberty and Justice for All”! In addition to the traditional entries, the Reading Fightin Phils and the Reading Royals will return with their fun and crazy mascots. Antique and Classic cars will be among the many other community groups winding through the parade route.

Parade Route: Parade kicks off at 1200 Cleveland Ave. and Wyomissing Blvd. Cleveland Ave. to Evans Ave. Evans to Garfield Ave. Garfield Ave. to Forest Ave. Forest Ave. to Girard Ave. Girard Ave. to Wyomissing Blvd. to Parkside Dr. North and ends at the Stone House

Governor Mifflin Community Days

Enjoy a night with the family at Governor Mifflin Community Days, a unique community fair featuring food, games, rides, and some of the best regional entertainment. (Note: fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, July 7th)

West Reading Independence Day Celebration

West Reading will hold its annual Independence Day Celebration from 6pm-10pm at the Pavilion/Field. The event starts off with open remarks by Mayor Andrew Kearney, and features food, music (by THE REASONS, and Johnny Rouleau singing the Nation Anthem) and fireworks at 9:30pm.

Colebrookdale Railroad

Colebrookdale Railroad is joining forces with the GoFourth! Festival for exciting family activities in celebration of our nation’s birth, with several 40-minute round-trip excursions between Boyertown and Memorial Park in Pottstown.

Return in the evening for a special GoFourth! Fireworks Show! Bring lawn chairs and enjoy complementary light refreshments as you enjoy a spectacular firework show in the park, and then afterwards board the train back to Boyertown without all the hassle that comes from traffic and parking.

Reading Fightin Phils

The Reading Symphony Orchestra Star Spangled Spectacular will take place at FirstEnergy Stadium on the 4th of July and is presented by Boscov’s. To conclude the night there will be an Independence Day Fireworks Show at 10pm thanks to Diamond Credit Union. This is a free but ticketed event. Tickets can be picked up at FirstEnergy Stadium & select Boscov locations. The Fightin Phils will have concession stands and bars open during the event.

Oakbrook Brewery “Build-A-Burger”

What will it be for July 4th? Bacon, jalapenos, cheddar cheese and spicy sriracha sauce? How about sliced baby portobello mushrooms, arugula and Gouda cheese? Or maybe just a a traditional delicious double bacon cheeseburger with bacon, mushrooms,lettuce and tomoato? Don’t forget our vegetarian friends with a veggie burger topped with a fire roasted red pepper and …. Well, just pick from a giant list of toppings!! Kyle is coming out of the brewery for a day to grill up burgers on July 4th and you get to build the burger with whatever you want! Another reason to stop in at Oakbrook Brewing from 3PM to 11PM!
